WHAT IS CUPPING?
Cupping is a 3000-year-old treatment method that is still widely used in China today.
The method utilizes plastic or glass cup suppressions placed on the client’s muscles or acupuncture points in the meridian pathways, to improve the circulation of the skin, the muscles and the body’s internal organs.
HOW DOES CUPPING WORK?
In normal massage, the muscles and tissue compress, whereas cupping massage works the opposite by sucking and expanding the connective tissue to stimulate blood circulation.
Cupping’s primary task is to move Qi (the life force energy) and blood, thereby dissolving stagnations.
HOW CUPPING IS PERFORMED?
I offer cupping with silicone cups or glass cups. When the treatment is performed with silicone cups, a vacuum is created by means of a pump which creates a vacuum in the silicone cup.
When the treatment is carried out with glass cups, vacuum is created by fire in the cup. The flame briefly touches the cup to create suppression before putting the cup on the body. Of course, the flame has no contact with the body.
Cupping is suitable for the treatment of:
• Muscle pain
• bursitis, frozen shoulder, tennis
• golf elbow
• bronchitis and asthma
Cupping is generally a very safe treatment. However, it is not recommended in the following conditions:
• All types of fractures, stretches, sprains as long as there is swelling
• Softer and people receiving anticoagulant medication
• Burns and sunburns
• Where skin is thin and sensitive
• All skin changes – eczema, ulcers etc.
